Creating a Book: Conversation with Writer Anna Povkh

We invite parents and children to a meeting with writer and activist Anna Povkh — as part of our «Creating a Book» event series, where we introduce children, teenagers and their parents to authors and pull back the curtain on how stories are made.

We will talk about Anna's book «This Is Girl Stuff! 36 Stories That Will Free You from Stereotypes». It contains 36 real-life stories from contemporary women about how gender bias has affected their lives — and how to deal with it. Appearance, character, relationships, career choice, feminism — the space for struggle is wide, but this edition adds confidence and inspiration.

The book is written for teenagers, yet will be useful to anyone who has ever heard: «You're a girl!» or «You're acting like a girl!», because gender stereotypes don't choose a gender.
